Technological change - (SWOT)
The next issue we will consider is technological change. Like globalisation, it’s something we are all aware of and is often discussed in relation to its impact on work, which happens in many ways.
Technology has radically altered the process by which work is carried out, across all industries. In doing so, it has destroyed some tasks and job roles, but has created new ones. New work process have meant new skill requirements and a need for workers to adapt to the new processes and technologies.
Technology has changed how we communicate within work, including how we communicate with those we are responsible for and to. And as new products and new technologies are created, they create new markets and opportunities for those who can use them.
