Uniqueness - summary

It may be that you found this exercise easy and were able to name many different facets that were unique or unusual about your profile. If that’s so, you should be able to make use of those in planning a new career direction.

On the other hand, if you found this really difficult, maybe you need to consider learning some new and more specialised skills. Ask yourself: Having developed good general skills and competences, should I now be putting effort into something unique? Of all the other people who have the important skills I have, what don’t they have? What could I develop?

One thing you might have or might develop is a unique combination. There are many people with good technical skills and many with good interpersonal skills, for example, but employers often complain about the difficulty in finding people who have both.

If you have found this section challenging, you might find the next section useful to start to discover what is unique about your personality.
